Meet the team...
Lauren Rush
City and Guilds Level 2 Certified Groomer and Proud Owner of Wirral Dog Groomers
Hey, I am Lauren!

Having established my love of dogs at the young age of 10, I began training and competing with my family Golden Retriever, Willow in both dog obedience and agility. I competed at Crufts a number of times and all of my teenage life was spent with dogs.

Of course, growing up I dreamt of a job with dogs, and after deciding University was not for me, I stumbled across an apprenticeship vacancy with Wirral Dog Groomers. Cut to today, I am a fully qualified groomer of six years, and the owner of a well established business that I have managed for four years.

My passion for prioritising low stress grooming that recognises force free grooming is much more beneficial for both dogs and groomers started with my own dog, Howie, a five year old Working Cocker Spaniel. I am also a devoted dog mum to my seventeen year old Shih Tzu, Flake and my one year old Golden Retriever, Margot.
Ellie Connor
City and Guilds Level 2 Certified Groomer and Salon Management
Hey, I am Ellie!

I have always been an animal enthusiast - any animal, but especially dogs. I have always wanted to work with animals, so much so, as soon as I left school at 16, I undertook an Animal Management course at Reaseheath College, during which I began my time at Wirral Dog Groomers.
From my first day of work experience at WDG in 2018, I knew dog grooming was going to be my passion and after finishing my Animal Management course, I decided to complete an apprenticeship, which was the best decision I have ever made.

I feel most passionate about making dogs feel happy, content and safe whilst being groomed and enjoy grooming a wide range of breeds. Nothing makes me feel pride more than seeing a dogs confidence grow!
I am proud dog mum to my Border Terrier cross, Tilly. Tilly is my pride and joy, and we love our adventures together - especially ones that end at the beach!
Marija Duric
Lantra Level 2 Certified Groomer
Hey, I am Marija!
Growing up, I always had dogs, including two Labradors, Race and Box, who really made me realise my love for the breed. I now own my own dog, a German Shepherd named Odinn, who can be a bit of a handful at times, but of course I adore him!
I moved from my birth country, Croatia, in 2019 and did lots of volunteering at different workplaces, including Wirral Dog Groomers. Fast forward a year and I was offered an apprenticeship at WDG, which I jumped at! I feel so lucky that my job allows me to meet and get to know so many wonderful dogs and their owners, who we get to see regularly. I also feel grateful to be able to help dogs feel and look their best, and seeing their owners happy as a result fills my heart with joy, as I know that is something I would want for my dog and I.
My favourite breed to groom are German Shepherds (not at all bias!). I also love to groom our senior dogs, who need just a bit extra love and attention.
